poem I am a child

I am all the things of my past:

- my mothers eyes, my fathers brains.

I am all I see:

- kawhai jumping

I am all I hear:

- waves crashing

I am all I taste

- smoked kawhai

I am all I remember:

- watching gannets dive

- the adrenaline of catching a big snapper

I am all I have been taught:

- to use table manners, to be polite and to chew with my mouth closed

I am all these things secrets deep down inside me

I am a caterpillar and all these things are my cocoon

but one day I will emerge and break free and become a man of the world.

DARE picture 1 Aorta-Alex

I was three when it happened but I'm eleven now except I remember it as clear as day. Eight years ago dad wouldn't quit smoking mum and dad had a fight and got divorced they didn't speak at all.

One day dad started getting chest pains and was rushed to the hospital. After A period of time the doctor strolled out and said " he will have to have his Aorta removed it will have to be replaced with a plastic tube." After the surgery dad never smoked again plus mum and dad got back together.

Since the surgery dad couldn't have ice-cream which was A downfall. But he could still have chocolate "YUM!'' :-)
